Week 15, and oh yeah, Christmas!

Marc and I spent Christmas here in Lancaster, PA with the Legere clan.  It wasn't a white Christmas until Sunday, when the rest of the family was supposed to come out.  Unfortunately, Philadelphia and New Jersey got blasted with a serious snowfall.  That canceled our extended family plans for December 26th, but we will be seeing them all on New Year's Day when we go to Gram Legere's house.

On Christmas Eve we followed Legere tradition of Mass, dinner out and then back home for gift exchange.  Kate and Kev each had Marc and I in the draw, so they combined $ to get us a Bloggie, a really great flip camera!!  It's exactly what we were looking for!!  We'll be using it a lot to document the pregnancy and growth of our baby once s/he's here.  Thanks guys!!

On Christmas morning, Marc and I exchanged gifts below our Charlie Brown tree.  :)
He got me the perfect gift that I've been wanting for a while - a remote car starter!!  Yay!  Now we've just got to get it installed.

To him, I gave 3 levels of gifts:  for the old man husband - dress socks, for the professional husband - a really sturdy phone case for his "other baby", and for the fun-loving husband - wheelie shoes!  the skate shoes that have little wheels in the back that you've probably seen all of those "punk" kids riding around on.  He's actually wanted them for a couple of years - it was tough getting them in his size!  :)

Then we went back to the Legere home, got our stocking stuffers from "Santa" and had an amazing breakfast!  We spent the rest of the day relaxing, watching some movies, t.v. classics and then Art and Mary Jane came over for the evening.  We had Indian food & Steaks, drinks and then sat around the dining room table playing some games - SO MUCH FUN!!  The rest of us went to bed, but Art, Dad and Marc stayed up until 3 a.m. "killing Nazis" playing video games.  Boys will be boys!!

So we are fast approaching week 16 (Jan 2nd) which means I'm already 4 months along!!  This pregnancy is flying by now that I'm feeling more energy and less nauseous!
We've taken some photos of the progress of my belly.  It's just now starting to "pop" a little bit.  I am hoping to keep the belly in check for a couple more weeks so that I can continue playing volleyball competitively without getting it caught up in the net.  :)
So, here they are....  I'm not really all that much bigger yet, just a little thicker through the middle.

Our First Ultrasound

We had our first ultrasound on Monday December 6, 2010.  Before everything started, we were so nervous and excited to find out whether or not everything looked healthy!  Marc even got a little light headed as he stood next to me waiting to see the first images of our baby.  Turns out our little "peach" is very healthy and everything looked really good.  S/he is measuring 5" from head to toe and was bouncing around like crazy.  It was so strange seeing the activity and feeling nothing.  I can't wait to start feeling the movements!
We will have another ultrasound at 20 weeks to determine the gender and do another check of the health.  We have decided to find out the gender of our baby.  We agree that either way it's going to be a surprise - either at 20 weeks or 40!  This way we can prepare ourselves and the nursery for our little one.
We have started telling more of our friends now that we have gotten a healthy report and I've made it through the first trimester.
I'm really looking forward to not feeling as nauseous and to getting some energy back!  I'm sure Marc won't mind having his wife awake after 7 p.m. each night, rather than sleeping on the couch next to him!!  :)
