35 weeks, where did the time go?!?!?!

So we are now at 35 weeks - which means a little over a month before our little girl is due to make her big entrance into the world!

We have been extremely busy preparing for her arrival.  We have had many fun baby showers with friends and family!  One in Raleigh-Durham, one in Chicago, one in Holland and another surprise baby shower in Pennsylvania at Downingtown Middle School!!  We have two more scheduled for Lancaster with family and friends.  This little lady is luckier that she knows - many people have already given her very generous, beautiful gifts!

Marc and I are attending a 6 week childbirth program at Women's & Babies Hospital here in Lancaster.  Next week we go on the hospital tour!  Each week we look at one another in amazement that our countdown is coming quickly to an end.

Will we ever really be prepared for the birth and parenthood??

We are so excited to meet our little girl, however, it is a bit scary to think that by the MLB All-Star game, we'll have a new Phillies Fan to cheer the team on with!

Old photos from 25 weeks, now we are at 29 weeks and counting!!

Somehow, I forgot to post these photos from week 25!  I'm blaming it on the hormones!!  :)

25 weeks

25 weeks

So over the past month, I've gotten REALLY BIG!!  I can't believe that I have another 11 weeks to go before this little girl is ready to come out.  I don't want to think about how much bigger I'll be come June....yikes!!!

29 weeks

29 weeks

So at this point, our little girl weighs about 3 pounds and is 17 inches from head to toe.  Her brain is getting bigger and bigger, so I'm trying to play music on the IPod at my belly and read aloud as much as possible so she's getting that stimulation.

We are getting ready for a really busy April.  This coming weekend (8- 10th) Marc and I are heading to Raleigh, North Carolina to visit our friends JC & Carol and Jason & Christie who are also each expecting their first babies just 2 weeks prior to us!  We will be having a baby shower for all of us that will be drawing friends from Chiro School from Denver, Detroit, Ohio and Mississippi.  We are really excited to see everyone!

After that, Jenny, my friend from Chicago is flying out on the 15th to drive back to Chicago with me.  She is pregnant too!  She's due with her second baby a week after me.   We figure that between the two of us, there will be plenty of bathroom breaks during that drive! I'm excited to see lots of friends from Chicagoland while there for the weekend.

Then it's off to Holland, Michigan to see my friends and family there.  My mom and sister, Heather, are throwing me a baby shower and then my mom and I are driving back to Pennsylvania together.  She'll take a flight back on Monday.

April will fly by with all of the baby showers and trips to see family and friends!!  Next thing we know it's going to be June and time to meet our little bundle of joy.

Love to all of our friends and family!!

Setting up the Baby's Room

Hmmmm.....

Starting to look like a crib?

We left a little something for our kiddo to read later to know how much mom and dad already loved her.

One day soon, this baby will be sleeping in this crib!

Easy access for those long nights!

23 Weeks and the celebration of our 4th Year of Meeting at Hooter's

Today, we mark the beginning of our 23rd week!  Next week, will be 6 months.  It's crazy how fast this time has been going.  Last week we attended a great class called, "The Happiest Baby on the Block".  We learned a lot about the childbirth process, tips and techniques of taking care of our little bundle of joy.  We even got to put a diaper on and then swaddle a stuffed bear!  Next on the line up of classes, prenatal yoga, childbirthing classes through our hospital and maybe a little Daddy Bootcamp!  :)

We had our 20 week ultrasound to find out she is a girl!!

Now that we know, I can't help but notice all of the adorable girls out there.  I'm really excited to be having a little girl. However, Marc has really embraced the idea of being our little girl's daddy!! He's always asking, "how are my girls?"

Another milestone that we have celebrated since our last post, is the 4th Anniversary of meeting at Hooter's on Valentine's Day!  This year we celebrated at the Hooter's in York, PA.  It's funny, to the outside world, Marc was taking a pregnant woman to Hooter's on Valentine's Day!  Little did they know we had both been looking forward to that night at Hooter's for a long time.  We did our normal exchange of gifts and eating of wings and then headed home.  On the way, we stopped for dessert, McFlurries, AND I talked them into making mine with a Shamrock Shake and Oreo mixture!  It was DELICIOUS!!

Bring on the pink!!!

So Marc and I went in for our 20 week ultrasound appointment and it was AMAZING!!!  We had a 45 minute ultrasound.  The tech talked us through the whole thing and showed us exactly what she was looking for.  First things first, SHE'S A GIRL!!!  Then the tech checked all limbs, the spine (which Marc loved!), head, brain and internal organs.  She checked things like the kidneys and then the bladder.  Because the bladder was full, she could tell that the kidneys were functioning.  Amazing and wonderful that they are able to detect the smallest things.  It really helps to put our minds at ease that we have a very healthy baby growing in there!

I'm going to include all of the ultrasound photos and label them.  The most amazing thing was what she called the 4 D views.  You can see her skin rather than just the bones - it's very lifelike!

These are the 4 D ones where you can see her with her arm above her head in the middle, and sucking her thumb in the bottom one.  She's so photogenic!!

20 weeks

Today marks the beginning of our 20 weeks of pregnancy!

The belly has been growing and growing!!  I feel great - lots of energy, no sickness, and now that everyone knows, it's been fun talking about our little one.  My students are looking forward to learning the gender of the baby too!

Tomorrow we learn the gender - so we'll be back soon with the big news!!

Pop goes the belly!

We are now at 18 weeks and the belly is definitely starting to "pop".  It's cool to see the changes in my body now that I'm not feeling the queasiness and exhaustion of the first trimester to remind me that I am in deed pregnant.

Because of the appearance of the tummy I made the decision to tell my principal, co-workers and eventually students at school.  Thanks to Jenny for the great idea on how to break it to the kiddos!
I made the new bulletin board asking in Spanish, "what gender is baby Legere?" and then had my students guess about the meaning.  Right away they thought it was Valentine's Day related.  I told them that it was something to do with love.  Then inevitably there would be a student who connected bebĂ© with the word baby and that I was pregnant.
I told the kids that I am finding out the gender at the end of the month (January 31st).  If they wanted to guess at the gender, they could write their name on either a pink or blue post it and stick it to the appropriate side.  If they guessed right, when I find out, I will give them a small prize - maybe some pink or blue candy or a sticker or something cute!
It was such a fun idea because it really got the kids excited and anticipating the news of the gender of the baby almost as much as Marc and I.  (Stickers and candy can do wonders to inspire kids!!)

I need a recount, but I believe there were 68 votes for a girl and 61 for a boy.  We'll see if they're correct!  Marc is convinced that we're having a girl - which now has got me convinced of the same.  However, we are going to be very excited about having either a boy or a girl and are really just wanting a healthy child.

We'll keep you updated on what we discover on January 31st!
